报告人简介：

Dr. Hui-Hai Liu is a staff scientist and currently serves as the head of Hydrogeology Department in the Earth Science Division at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL). He got his Ph.D. degree in soil physics / vadose zone hydrology from Auburn University in 1995 and joined LBNL in 1997 as a geological scientist. His research interests include modeling flow and transport in fracture rock, coupled hydrological and mechanical processes, physics and properties for unsaturated flow, and their applications in water resources management, geothermal energy, nuclear waste management, and CO2 geological sequestration. He is now the leading Principle Investigator of LBNL in the area of geological disposal of high-level nuclear waste and was involved in developing US long-term nuclear waste management R&D road map. He has more than 100 technical publications including 70 peer-reviewed journal articles. He is a fellow of Geological Society of America and also recipient of Emil Truog soil science award from Soil Science Society of America, an Outstanding Oversea Young Scientist award(国家杰出青年科学基金) from China Natural Science Foundation, and Director’s Exceptional Achievement Award from LBNL.
