报告人简介

Dr. Jan Hopmansis a soil scientist, hydrologist and professor at Dept. of Land, Air & Water Resourcesof University of California at Davis. Prof. Hopmansis the associate dean of College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences of UC-Davis, and the elected presidentof Soil Science Society of America. Prof. Hopmanswas awarded the Fellow of Soil Science Society of America (2001) and American Geophysical Union (2005), and Don and Betty Kirkham Soil Physics Award (2003). Dr. Hopmans has published more than170 refereed journal articles and 25 book chapters, and edited 7 books and journal special issues.

Prof. Hopmans’ main research interest focuses on soil sciences and vadosezone hydrology, which includes:

　　·unsaturated flow and transport processes and modeling

　　·x-ray microtomography

　　·plant root-soil water interactions

　　·parameter optimization of soil and hydrologic properties

　　·irrigation water management
