Prof. Benny Chefetz: Title: Irrigation with treated wastewater: benefits and risks Due to water scarcity in the Middle East, reclaimed wastewater is essential water source to maintain productive agriculture. Irrigation with reclaimed wastewater accounts for 50% of total irrigation water in Israel. This unique situation of intensive irrigation with reclaimed wastewater provides an excellent opportunity to study the long-term effects on the agro-environment. In this paper the positive and negative effects of irrigation with treated wastewater will be presented. Prof. Benny Chefetz简历 Higher education 1992 B.Sc. Agr. Thesis: Transformation of organic matter during composting of municipal solid waste.
