Dr. Takeshi Kuroyanagi (畔栁武司)

Dr. Takeshi Kuroyanagi is a senior researcher of Western Agricultural Research Center, National Agriculture and Food Research Organization (NARO), Japan. He received his doctorate with a study on the energy-saving mechanism of Chinese solar greenhouses, from University of Tsukuba, Japan in 2004. From year 2004 until now he works with main expertise on greenhouse energy balance and computational fluid dynamics. He has been involved with projects supported financially by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Japan: natural ventilation studies, energy-saving measures in heating, efficient carbon dioxide enrichment in greenhouses.

Dr. Hisashi YOSHIKOSHI (吉越恆)

Dr. Hisashi Yoshikoshi is a researcher of Western Agricultural Research Center, NARO, Japan. He received his doctorate with a study on the mitigation technique for urban heat by using latent heat of greenery, from Kyushu University, Japan in 2001. His research focuses on heat balance and thermal control for agricultural facilities; tea gardens, dairy barns and greenhouses. From 2009 to 2013 he had participated in educational project for closed-type facilities for vegetable productions (plant factories), and has experimentally studied on the application of LED lights to plant production systems.

Mr. Takayoshi YANO (矢野孝喜)

Takayoshi Yano is a researcher of Western Agricultural Research Center, NARO, Japan. From 2000 to 2012, he worked at Agricultural Research Center for Tohoku Region. He had researched at there about developing the new strawberry cropping system for out-of-season production in the cool region. From 2013 until now, he has been involved with the project of developing the intermittent cool temperature storage of strawberry plants to advance the flower induction of forcing strawberry. He also has been participating in the development of a high-yield and low-input (water and nutrition) cropping system of tomatoes.
