Dr. Sönke Brodersen 

Born May 13th 1957 in Klethen/Stade, Germany   

1977 – 1983  Study of Mechanical Engineering at Technical University Braunschweig Major subject: Aerospace engineering 

1984 – 1988  Scientific assistant at Technical University Braunschweig    Doctoral degree 1986, Thesis on aerodynamically highly loaded fans 

1988 – 1990  Research Associate, Arizona State University, USA    Feodor-Lynen-Fellow of Alexander von Humboldt-Foundation Investigation on heat transfer on turbine disk  

Since 1990   Company: KSB (Leading German manufacturer of pumps, valves and systems)    In various positions at different locations 

   Present position: Global Executive Officer Technology Head of Corporate Unit Technology  

Since 2004  Board Member of VDMA-Association Pumps+Systems    (Association of German Pump Manufacturers)    Since 2009 Chairman of VDMA-Association Pumps+Systems     

Since 2005 Member of EUROPUMP Council  (Association of European Pump Manufacturers)  2011-2013 EUROPUMP President  

Since 2011 Guest professor at China University of Petroleum, Beijing
